Beware, it crashed my Hard disk! January 6, 2006 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
I downloaded EZ Antivirus trial version from CA and Installed it on my laptop (XP Professional SP1). After installation the software started scanning automatically, which I allowed it to do and left my laptop alone. The laptop caught my attention when it started rebooting again and again. I realized my hard disk was also making a lot of noise.
br /I went to CA's website and couldn't find any number to call. So I started web chat with their support. The support said that I might have installed the software with another anti-virus already working on my laptop. As per him, now only Microsoft can fix my problem. He said he would escalate the issue and copy me the email, which I'm still awaiting.
br /To fix my hard disk I tried XP setup, Restore disks, and even reformatting the hard disk. Nothing works. I had to throw the hard disk.
br /So just a friendly warning... stay away!!!
CA Marketing and Sales: too many liberties October 27, 2005 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
I switched to CA Antivirus from Norton which was slowing down my 3.2 gig XP system. I had no problems with it and was content until it was time to renew my license. One month before renewal time the program's renewal module kicked in. after EVERY boot up the module would sit in memory until I connected to the internet. at which time it would automatically ask me to renew and opened up my default web browser to the renewal site. After 4 days of this I felt my back was against the wall and renewed my license,(I did like the program). Unfortunately that was not the end of it. I received no confirmation of purchase from the company until 15 DAYS AFTER RENEWAL PURCHASE. Yes my order was listed in the website, and yes the automatic reminder continued every single boot up and connection. after a week of calling Customer service (4x) and getting the runaround I found turning on my computer so unpleasant that I searched around and found another program which was less intrusive and Just as effective if not more so. I managed to still maintain an acceptable level of computer footprint so that my resorces are not taxed as with Norton or Mcafee as well. It was a shame because I liked the product but the Greed Module kicked in and ruined the program for me. - Switched to Kaspersky. There are many other very good antivirus programs out there, you just have to do a little digging.
Tried it and then bought it. October 25, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Simple to install and easy to use the software does not eat much memory and works without much intrusion in your daily life and fore that I give it 5 stars.

br /Updates are done often or as often as you wish and take only a very short time to download...try that with other programs of this nature.

br /I would buy again.
ezAntivirus: Does the job October 10, 2005 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have installed all popular AntiVirus programs on various machines and all have their weaknesses. I got fed up with Norton when multiple problems led to "uninstall and reinstall" which still didn't solve problems.

br /ezAntivirus works fine and the subscriptionss are the most reasonable around. It updates incredibly fast; others don't. CA even allows subscription transfer to another machine!
br /
br /Reviewers with lockup problems (BSODs) with 2000/XP should update their Nero InCD program; this is a known bug.
completely useless - garbage September 18, 2005 at first this seems like the perfect antirvirus program... cheap, uses up very minimal resources, simple to use.. lifetime subscription for free.. what could be wrong?
br /
br /EVERYTHING. see, the problem isn't that this program can't find viruses.. the problem is IT FINDS THEM AND DOESN'T DO ANYTHING WITH THEM. that's right, it leaves the viruses right there!! how is that useful in any way? i looked in options to make sure it cleaned or deleted viruses, but still the log report would announce to me "(this many) viruses could not be deleted or cleaned." well, thanks for nothing. i'm going to return this and get a real antivirus program.
