Good Portable Mouse January 8, 2009 The price was right. The mouse is extemely precise and works well with my bluetooth enabled HP laptop. It is also very light, for its size, compared to other mice for laptops that are either too heavy or too tiny. In the past one month I really got used to using it. One gripe: No side to side scrolling. Oh well...
Almost TOO good. January 6, 2009 What a great mouse. With a Dell Inspiron 1525 and the optional 355 Bluetooth adapter, Vista immediately picks up the device, I type in the passkey ("0000") and I'm mousing away like there's no tomorrow.
br /I say "almost too good" because it's so incredibly sensitive and accurate (compared to my previous optical USB Microsoft Notebook Mouse) that, even when it's lifted 1/4 inch off the table top to re-center it, the pointer moves.
br /It's got a little weight to it, so it doesn't feel like a cheap Belkin or no-name mouse. the back-button is smartly positioned so you don't accidentally hit it. An "off" button is useful, but you may not need it; the mouse powers off after a few minutes of inactivity, comes right back on with a click of a button.
Faulty product January 6, 2009 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 received from Amazon was not functional and had to be replaced by Microsoft. The replacement mouse tends to loose contact with the MacBook Pro, or freezes, and requires repeated installation procedures to reconnect, particularly when the Mouse is turned off to save battery usage. The idea of not requiring a separate receiver taking up limited USB portals is a great advantage but, it appears there is some refining require to produce a more reliable product.
Feels like a full size mouse January 6, 2009 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the second time I buy this mouse. I had to buy it twice because the first one was lost along with my backpack by a local airline company.

br /When I first thought about buying a mouse for my laptop (Thinkpad T60) I was very concerned because I do have big hands and I don't like those mouses that you use with just your fingers. I like to rest the palm of my hand on the body of the mouse. Even though this one is small enough to fit in your backpack without cluttering it too much, it also has a nice ergonomic shape which makes you feel like it is a real full size mouse.

br /Very ergonomic, nice precision (due to the use of laser), and it does endure a lot of work with a simple pair of batteries. Works with MacBook Pro as well.

br /It never gave me headaches concerning pairing or interference. Also, it is very nice not needing those USB dongs because my laptop already have bluetooth (Thinkpad T60).

Decent overall, but defective right-click button December 31, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Like most MS mice, this one is a comfortable shape, and has a decent feature set. I use it with a MacBook Pro and it was easily recognized and set up without a problem. All basic functions work but there are two problems:
br /
br /1. Construction is cheap and flimsy, feels like it was made with very cheap materials.
br /
br /2. The right-click button fails regularly and stops responding. It requires a dozen or so hard presses to finally open a right-click dialog. Unfortunately this problem arose after the mouse was out of warranty, so I have to deal with this major annoyance or purchase a replacement (likely a different model).
