4 out of 5 stars Best of the Rodeo Games   June 16, 2005

If you love Rodeo, and know who Ty Murry is you'll like this game.

First, I worked on it. Ok, it wasn't my first guess as what would make a great game, but after working on it a while I really began to love the sport. Bull Riding! It's not for your averge guy. But its not what those animal rights folks complain about either, no 2000lb bull is hurt by tossing a 150lb cowboy in the dirt and stomping on him.

Second, PRB Riders are the best pro sportsman I've ever worked with. Honest to a fault. Forthright and just great to deal with.

Third, We used real riders and real bulls. Their stats are in this game. They do the moves that the real bulls do. Having trouble staying on? Watch the real bull on TNN then match the moves. All cowboys are not created equal, each has stats that match his real world expertise.

Fourth, Get a joy stick. This game is way more fun with the force feedback joystick.

Fifth, play against a buddy. Why let a computer bull put you in the dirt when your buddy can whomp you?

So before you lame gamers write another trashy review, go out and watch a real rodeo. (i.e. get a life!) You'll come to appreciate that the athletes in the ring are not just the cowboys. Those bulls know their jobs, and its to toss cowboys in the dirt then take a victory lap around the ring.

Then check out the credits. When was the last time you got your NFL player's signature on your hat? Doesn't happen.

If you dont like rodeo then dont bother. If you like bullriding or if you are a bullrider like me, buy it. Don't listen to these other guys, who's only experience in bullriding is a 5 minute cruise on this game. I loved it and if you even just watch the PBR on TNN every saterday night I think you will like it, but if you hate bullriding, have never even watched it and are extremly close minded, then you are not going to like it.

3 out of 5 stars Play the game before you review it, please   September 15, 2000

Okay, so it's not the most spectacular game concept around. It is definitely a "bubba game" catering to the mass market. Hard core gamers mock it.

But, have any of those gamers actually played this game?

I have. It's not my type of game, but I can see how it would be fun. Check out the screenshots: it's pretty funny watching a bull kick a cowboy sky high. The graphics are actually decent. It's not like this is some Wizardworks piece of garbage; it's Sierra, and Sierra makes quality games.

So, yes, it's not a sophisticated work of art like Deus Ex or System Shock 2. It won't keep you playing for hours and hours like Diablo 2. But it's a fun little diversion, it's fun, and it does a great job satisfying a niche. Those who are into bull riding and rodeos will really like this game.

My question is, are people who are really into rodeos and bull riding also computer owners? Apparently so, because Sierra made Professional Bull Rider 2...

1 out of 5 stars Oh joy, another bad game....   September 4, 2000

Have you ever watched water boil? It's a lot funner than this game. You're supposed to stay on the bull for about 9 seconds, that's a lot longer than you should play this game.

Alright, this game is the biggest joke in the computer gaming world. The thought that Sierra could stab the backs of every gamer in an attempt to make the 'big-audience sell-out' game is sickening and sad. This game has been renounced by EVERY major computer game reporting agency and has been literally laughed off the shelves. But hell, if you always wanted to be a bull-rider, or even a bull, and you like poorly designed slip-shod games, buy it, quick. Or take your money and give it to the homeless guy down the street. His little dance of joy should be 10x's more entertaining than the 2.1 seconds of joy you'll get from this game. And that's from the title screen... Remember folks a feature is PLAYING AS THE BULL!!!
