Works just fine April 11, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I only switched to Mac from PC some 4-5 months ago and have only used the MS Office 2008, not the 2004 and can therefore not make any comparison.
I can, however, say that I think the MS Office 2008 is working fine, fast, and smoothly. I have not had any problems with installation or compatibility of any kind. 95 percent of the time, I work only with Word, so I'm not too familiar with any glitches or problems there might be with inter-MS applications compatibility. There is, however, a problem with Word. It is, obviously, set up in a certain way as default, and I can't figure out how to change this default. For example: every time you press 'return' (or 'enter'), it skips a line, thus creating a new section. I don't want it to do that be default, but I can't figure out how to change it. I may be thick here, but it's still annoying.
Apart from such small foibles though, it is all dandy. I use MS Office every day.
Works as it should April 10, 2008 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
If you use Word in a Windows environment, then you need this for your Mac. All the programs work as you would expect.
And you can install it on up to 3 Macs, so it's a great deal. I've installed it on my MacBook Air and IMac and it works great.
Finally! April 9, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Long overdue upgrade. Works seamlessly with the Windows version. This is a true word processor unlike Pages.
Works well with Leopard April 8, 2008 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
I gave this 4 out of 5 stars because this product wreaked havoc on my macbookpro with osx 10.5 initially. I was one of the first people to buy according to amazon and MS hadn't issued any cirtical updates yet because I guess they wanted to see what was happening with individual users. Since I installed the last few updates I have had no issues whatsoever. I don't use entourage but for PP, Word and Excel there is little discernible difference with me in appearance or functionality and I have had no issues when working with files from a native windows environment. Overall product works well now but honestly, you might as just buy vmware fusion and keep your windows version and you won't have to buy this. Fusion works quite well and all my MS apps are working flawlessly on my mac too!
Everything works, but it doesn't come with everything April 7, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
As a new Mac user with a history of Office product use, I needed an easy way to migrate from the PC world. I initially tried setting up a virtual PC on my Mac, but quickly discovered that I was importing all the PC/Windows headaches I wanted to escape.
I bought Mac Office, and have found that Word, Excel, and PowerPoint all work just like they should, and just like I'm used to, and I can freely copy all my old files over to the Mac.
I haven't yet successfully migrated my email functions. I was a bit disappointed that I've got to learn Entourage, instead of Outlook. It works easily enough, but moving my old emails is a task requiring some management and effort. Since my old desktop has been running Eudora for email, I'm, still quite daunted by that migration effort.
