1 out of 5 stars Breaks Adobe Bridge   August 13, 2008

Installing this product breaks Adobe Bridge CS2, and there is no easy work around. In fact, the only workaround is to install Adobe Bridge on a second computer, copy some files, and uninstall. Yuk.

See here:

Note that the first of the two solutions probably won't work for you, since that's my experience, as well as the experience of most of the people commenting in forums. So, to fix your computer, you'll need a second computer.

Upshot: if you own Adobe CS2, avoid this program. Actually, given my experience with this steaming pile of code, I'd just avoid this program, period.

1 out of 5 stars Stay Away   August 10, 2008

I bought this for Adobe name and my new desktop with Vista.

This product is difficult to learn.

I went back to Sony Vegas. I could not find the CD but was able to download. They even had saved my registration.

Sony Vegas has excellent tutorial. They walk you through the process interactively.

1 out of 5 stars Did Not Meet Expectations   July 31, 2008

I wished that I had more carefully reviewed other users' comments before purchasing this software. The work space is very dark. Icons for Volume, Soundtrack, etc. do not contrast well with the dark work area, making them difficult to see. Also the selection tool puts a dark blue outline around selected movie clips, which does not contrast well with the dark background, thus making it difficult to see what has been selected. Such decisions by the software developers who designed this software are incomprehensible. Finally, I purchased this software to burn VCDs & SVCDs. This software will not burn VCDs or SVCDs.

1 out of 5 stars Upgrade, or die of stress!   July 30, 2008

If all these naysayers are serious about video editing they should spend the extra money, avoid the crashes and heartaches, have access to good tech support and BUY ADOBE PREMIERE PRO CS3! Elements is, was and will always be just a consumer level toy that will not handle complex tasks and in truth was never designed to do so. If you have paid top dollar for a High Definition videocamera it is ridiculous to assume that this level of software can deal with that much information successfully. Spend the dough and add years to your life - free of stress!

2 out of 5 stars Problem after problem...buyer beware   July 28, 2008

I purchased this software to make an anniversary video for my husband. I'm quite good at MovieMaker already but found problems with the sound quality and lack of customization options so I purchased Premiere Elements. This was the program the photo place recommended that was converting my VHS tapes to DVD files so I could create the video. I have spent no less than 20+ hours of time on Premiere Elements because of stupid glitches. I spent an hour and half adding video footage and trimming it for it to be lost, even though I saved it. Music was a huge problem. Always add your music last!! If I added a video piece after I had added music, it would create a gap of emptiness that took me 30 minutes to figure out how to remove. Functions in the program don't work--the sound mix doesn't work at all and the titles are hard to edit. It's been painful to deal with and practically no instructions come with it. The online help is no help at all. I would never buy this software again. Save yourself the heartache!!
