4 out of 5 stars So far so good   August 22, 2008
I got a new computer and I needed virus protection. I've always used Norton, but that slowed my computer way down. Two techs suggested I go with Kaspersky so I did and it works great for me. I have Vista. Make sure before installing it that you have no other anti-virus software on your computer because I forgot to remove the Norton that the computer came with and they clashed and I had to do everything over again. 2nd day I had it operating, it warned against a Trojan virus on a website.
Scans didn't take that long either. I paid way more in the store for it than on here!

4 out of 5 stars Much better than ZoneAlarm   August 19, 2008
Recently purchased this at Amazon and overall am very happy with the firewall. Some people may be put off by the initial training mode, but it is worth the work for peace of mind. I used to use zone alarm suite for the past 4 years but recently they have become unstable to say the least. I look forward to Kaspersky to keep up the good work!

3 out of 5 stars Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0   August 14, 2008

I purchased this product based on the reviews of CNET and other on line sources. I have only been using it for a few weeks as of 08/14/08. Perhaps it's just me but I have found it difficult to use and confusing as to how to properly run all the various options. I had been using Trend Micro and it was fairly simple to to understand and use. If Kasperskey lives up to it's reputation I will be pleased.

4 out of 5 stars No Troubles Installing It [...]   August 14, 2008

After having my Norton Antivirus expire recently, I was hesitant to renew another year of Norton headaches, decided to try something different and after reading mixed reviews on various Internet Security, I settled on (Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 3 user). So far so good.

Pros:
Installing this thing was easy compared to other internet security products, I've been a Computer Technician for 7 years and I have tried almost all the Security software in the market today and this one was by far the easiest to install, during this period, very little user interaction is needed, it recognizes all the programs that need internet access and immediately recognizes threats on your PC during installation, also the option to leave Windows Firewall (optional) running along side with no conflicts and the ability for this software to automated hourly updates against the latest threats free, which makes this product the most updated every month, that's important.

Users need to keep in mind that installing/running this product with traces of other security orphan files left behind during the uninstall process with cause conflict and instability, so the best thing to perform first is to remove the old software with the Add/Remove utility in Windows, restart the PC, then head to the Registry (Using the Run Command enter: Regedit) and carefully look for HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\Symantec for example and delete this file or the company you was running, then look for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Symantec Folder and delete it, close out the editor and restart PC, then proceed to install this product.

I performed a system wide scan (Recommended Monthly) rather quickly considering the size of my Hardrive and found 50 worm/trojan items Norton Antivirus never recognize for an entire year, way to go Norton and disinfected them during the scan automatically without my input, Anti-File, Mail, Web and Spam are always scanning the system constantly needing little user interaction never asking how to proceed. I personally like the Parental control feature which limits online time and access to forbidden sites with tracking, good for monitoring children and visitors, (Specially the latter)...lol... The product comes pre-configured, but you can change settings as you wish. Read the Manual (Recommended) to learn more additional tips and features.

I like the fact that it needs the least amount of processor, memory and bandwidth resources of any product I used before, usually these security suites are resource hogs, clogging the system and slow up overall performance, not this product, my computer is performing faster than ever without a hitch, and I'm very pleased.

Conclusion:
Overall a solid Internet Security Suite for 3 computers, Free Technical Support, Hourly Automated Updates, Firewall, Privacy and Parental Control and Impressive System Performance (My Favorite) and a great price (If You Can Get the CashBack Rebate). What else can you ask for? I hope this review helps you, Good Luck.

1 out of 5 stars Severely Slows Launch of ANY Graphic Applications   August 13, 2008

As a long time Norton user, I purchased this software because it got great reviews and was said to not bog down the system by running in the background all the time (which Norton automatic update does). Well after using it for a month, I'm reluctantly going back to Norton. Kaspersky is AWFUL!!! It severely slows down the launch of any Graphic software and Adobe applications (Photoshop, Acrobat, and AutoCad ~ the main software I use). I've even left the room to go get something from the fridge and come back and the application still hasn't opened. As soon as I pause Kaspersky, the application launces right up. I FIND MYSELF PAUSING KASPERSKY CONSTANTLY. I just wanted an internet protection software that protects my computer without knowing its there all the time slowing my computer down. WELL, KASPERSKY DEFINITELY ISN'T THE ANSWER! If you are a graphic artist (like me) or use any graphic programs, FORGET USING KASPERSKY. What a waste of money!!!
