Way too difficult to use April 3, 2007 7 out of 11 found this review helpful
If you don't have to switch to the 2007 version, don't do it. It is very difficult to learn to use. Nothing is where you would expect it to be, and Help is unbelievably poor. Some of it's just dumb, like replacing the "File" menu with an icon which doesn't sit in a line with the rest of the menu items, so there is no visual clue whatsoever that that icon is actually the file menu. It's as though Microsoft went out of their way to make the transition to the Office 2007 as painful as possible. Even their new operating system retains the option for a "classic" view; why not Office? I have found no new redeeming qualities that compensate for the steepness of the learning curve for this new product, and frankly, I regret having made the upgrade. I am not alone: my wife refuses to upgrade her Office suite, after having seen the 2007 suite.

There's a big learning curve with MS 2007. If you're not a regular/daily user it's difficult to use/learn.

A great upgrade on the '97 and '03 versions I was using. Easier to navigate and better presentation tools. Haven't used One note yet. All my files were updated easily and it runs fine with 256 memory.

I am sorry I purchased this version. I have several years experience with MS Office Suite and this is "dummied" down so much I am having to relearn the programs and how to circumvent the preset actions. All the extra built-ins are probably great for someone with no experience; not for me.
Other than that small problem, it still (almost) acts like what I use on the job.
Excellent product: MS Office Home 2007 March 31, 2007 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I keep our family medical and budget in Excel; we use MS Word for documents and family history. I use Powerpoint for my quilt patterns which I scan into Paint and copy to Powerpoint. So far we have been able to do everything with this software as with the older version we had on an older computer. This product is great! We would highly recommend it. Also, I can't see any limitations on this software when I compare it to what I had at work before I retired.
