MS Word Office 2007-new look November 7, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was using MS Word 2001 and MS Office Suite 2000. The spread sheet in the Office Suite was out dated and no one seemed to be able to open my spread sheet and I could not open one in Excel. Also MS Word kept trying to update and telling me to put in the disc etc., but this didn't fix the problem.
Anyway I decided to update and the MS Office 2007 for Home/Students seemed like a good idea. For someone having an earlier version to open this new spreadsheet, I have to save it in the 97-2003 extension which is frustrating. The new MS Word is much more complicated and advanced than I'd prefer. I expect when I go to insert to have the option of inserting page numbers, but that's been moved to who knows where, I haven't found it yet.
The old MS Word was good, why not continue on that format and then have all this new stuff as options for those who might want it. I would think a large percentage of people need just a good word processor for letters/documents with a rather plain format.
Where is Outlook 2007? November 6, 2007 17 out of 18 found this review helpful
MS Office Student & Teacher edition has always included MS Outlook. Microsoft replaced the useful Outlook with the useless Onenote?
frustrating and quirky November 5, 2007 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
One can't help but wonder who is writing the glowing reviews of this 'new and improved'Office. I am only using Word and can't speak of the other programs. But Word! Yes, some of the new features are handy, yes it looks nice enough, but if you're just a home user and not a techno geek, beware. Word is convinced that it knows what your document should look like, and your personal work habits and preferences are secondary. People go nuts looking for ways to change this or that - read the reviews on other sites and see for yourself. I'm not saying you shouldn't buy it. I'm saying MICROSOFT PLEASE MAKE THIS MORE USER-FRIENDLY!
A giant step backward November 5, 2007 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
In my opinion, this is a giant step backward for Microsoft software. It is radically different from previous versions, much less intuitive, and more complicated to use. I'm staying with 2003!
Invaluable November 4, 2007 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
Invaluable tool for writer's and office work. Disappointed in the deletion of some of my favorite fonts in Word though.
