iWork is Awesome October 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I used the 30day trial that came with my new Mac and loved it. Pages made it really easy to update and change the layout of my resume. I did not get frustrated like I usually do with Word. I also found a professional invoice template that I used for some contract work I did. It was great and did not take much time.
My first keynote presentation was a great experience. I was able to layout the graphics and text just like I wanted. Building animations was really simple and the whole thing looked very professional.
The defaults for all of iWork apps just looks so good, you often don't have to change much. If you want to customize, that is easy also.
So far I have not had much trouble working with Office docs. The the great user experience of iWork offsets the minor conversion issues.
Apple iWork-great product October 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
iWork is Apple's version of Microsoft Works. Has a word processor, Pages; a presentation maker, Keynote; and a spread sheet, Numbers. All meet or excide my needs.
No default control October 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Do not like like lack of ability to change default setting in Numbers. That includws color of grid lines. My eyesight is poor. Also. no way to print row and column headings.

Generally satisfied. I wish Numbers had been accompanied by a good tutorial. It is quite different from MS Office which I am fairly acquainted with so better instructions would be handy. Also some of the most usable MS Office attributes are missing.
Not an Office substitute September 28, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This program is great... if you are operating in an environment full of Mac users or not trading files with anyone at all. When it comes to working with Microsoft files (which dominate the rest of the working and academic world) this package falls flat. Formatting goes missing, documents look funny, and nothing is ever quite the way you expected it to be.
I have one word for Office users moving to Mac: DON'T. Shell out the extra cash for Office 2008 for Mac.
