Better than CH yoke November 19, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this product initially with hesitation because of all of the problems people seemed to have with it. The key to installation is to not use the drivers on the CD it comes with. Also go to the forums that tell you how to delete certain registry entries that give you a clean slate on your yoke and button assignments. After clearing your assignments on FS9 and/or FSX like I have, you go in and set the assignments anew for your yoke and throttle assembly. Then you won't get the gear down and view change anomalies. I use the CH pedals without any problems along with the Saitek stuff. When those quit working though I will switch to the the Saitek pedals. This product is heavy duty and real looking compared to the CH yoke that I used for 3 years. The metal shaft and LED clock look very awesome. Go ahead and buy this, you will be glad you did. Buy the way, I did install the CD drivers initially just to see if the problems would occur. They did. Went to Saitek forums and found the solution. Follow the directions on deleting registry entries and deleting your yoke assingnments and everything works great.
Just about as real as it gets November 15, 2008 The Saitek pro flight system is just about a close to a real airplane as you can get. The "phantom key press" issue seems to be solved in case anyone is worried about that. The throttle quadrant definetly tops the CH product. My only complaint is the roll axis is a little too tight, but being a real pilot, this is great.
Flight Yoke---Three lever Throttle October 31, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This unit came so very highly rated===only to disappoint in the end. I have Programed several switches to change views-only to have them move all over the views. It is so hard to land and have your views on screen change one after the other making impossible to do a proper landing or in flight movement.example is view front is programed to one switch-other side of switch to fix view. if you select a few it gos there and then starts to change to all the other views at a 2 per second rate.
Almost Very Good October 31, 2008 Better than a joystick, but yoke doesn't "play" like the real thing when you try light thumb/two finger control with left hand, as in real plane. And, still haven't been able to fully configure throttle quadrant to resemble the Cessna 172, wanting to use the far right knob for flaps. Maybe it can be done, but haven't succeeded yet. Could use instructions for the clock/timer as well. Maybe it only gives current time from the computer and lapse time. Can't see the markings for the clock on the yoke in subdued light. Otherwise, enjoying the practice. Especially for instrument work.
Saitek Flight Pro Yoke and Throttle Module October 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am using the Saitek Flight Pro system on an HP m8100n computer system with Microsoft Flight Simulator X Deluxe (FSX). The system is well built and plugs right into any USB port. I did install the Saitek programming software, but subsequently removed it. The documentation concerning how to use the software is not very good. Actually, it is of little use. The yoke and throttle modules have worked well. However, I do have to re-calibrate the yoke each time I start FSX. The elevator control portion of the yoke is very sensitivity and has to be re-calibrated each time one starts the simulator.
I did remove one of the springs associated with centering the elevator to obtain a more realistic feel.
I would buy it again. The 4 stars rather than 5 is because of the poor controller software documentation and having to re-calibate after each startup of the simulator software.
