Great July 21, 2008 I use it all the time and fine it easy to use and the results are very good.
ArcSoft ShowBiz pretty much what I expected April 5, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had a previous edition of this program preloaded on a previous computer, that I lost when I had a hard drive crash. I thought I would buy the new edition for my new computer. It is pretty much like the old one. So far I have used it for three projects, and it has worked fine. Not the fastest program, but I still like it. When you finish making a DVD it asks if you want to make a label, and I can never get it to go anywhere but to a page offering to sell something to me. If anyone else has this, and yours goes to a page to actually design a label for LightScribe let me know.
A pretty good program overall. January 5, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
* I've been using this software for a couple of years now and am pretty familiar with it. I won't go into all of it's features and details as you can read that in the product description above. What I will say is that although it has limitations, the home movie folks (moms, dads teens) will find that it pretty much does all you need for making DVD's of birthdays, holidays, special occasions, etc using your digital camera stills and / or camcorder movies. Note here that you can also produce small file sized "emailable" versions of your DVD productions as well (but lower quality of course). Several types of effects, fades, transitions, text types, and alterations are at your disposal, however after a couple of years they become a bit "old hat". I wish there was an add-on pack for more. It's still good though. Windows Movie Maker which is on a lot of computers these days is "ok", but ShowBiz DVD 2 is better for sure.

br /* This software did occasionally lock up on my old computer, but since using it on my new AMD 64 X2 equipped model, I've not had a single issue. The only thing that might hold me back from recommending it is that it's been out for so long now that there must be a "version 3" about ready for release, or at least there SHOULD be. 4 stars out of 5.
locks up the computer May 13, 2007 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I downloaded the trial version from Arcsoft's website and it worked very well. Lots of neat things to play with and it gave me the ability to really clean up my video when needed. Lots of special effects to use some fun and some adding to the usefulness of the project you are working on. Commands were easy to follow but it did take some digging to find answers in the Help for common tasks. I spent the $100 for the latest version and licence. After installing the program I started working on my first program only to find that I could up load pictures to the program but once I got them there could do nothing with them. After many hours of checking everything out, contacting Arcsoft Customer Service, slow but helpful, it turned out that their latest version of ShowBiz is NOT compatible with Windows Media Edition operating system. The computer would lock up and only rebooting got it going again. Arcsoft then sent me a way to download an old but functional version of the program which does not have all the features available. If you are looking for a program to edit video this program is better than anything roxio puts out. Also Arcsoft's Customer Service Dept. actual responds to your questions. One final point: if you are running Windows Defender you will have to shut it off before using this program or Defender will shut down your Explorer program and shut down the desktop.
