5 out of 5 stars The Best Software for Watching Porn - Bar None!   November 22, 2008
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

I wouldn't say I watch a lot of porn. Well, maybe I do. But it wouldn't be nearly so enjoyable if I didn't have Cyberlink Power DVD 7 loaded on my PC. I wouldn't watch porn any other way. Here's why: br / br / br /Bookmarks - Cyberlink 7 allows for an infinite number of bookmarks. The very first bookmark I'll always place in a video (which is saved on your hard drive, not the DVD itself) is usually -- just past the annoying `phone sex' previews -- that many studios insist upon making you watch. The next time I pop in the disc, one quick click and I'm on to my first scene. The bookmarks are saved - making it easier to find my favorite portions during future viewings. There's also a video browser which lets you scan thumbnails of your bookmarks all at once - in case you forget where you marked. (Bad, doggy.) br / br / br /Screen Capture - This is one of Cyberlink 7's best features. If you click on this icon - while the segment is running (up to 2 times normal speed) -- or, better yet, when you `pause' the action - you'll capture a video image just as you see it on the screen. You can choose any number of aspect ratios or image sizes (in pixels). I typically select the `original video source size' option which automatically adjusts for TV, movie and widescreen formats and everything in between. The images are saved to a file on my hard drive that I've set up ahead of time (in a place only I know where to find). And if you're like me - and you rent DVD's or loan them out to friends - this will be a great way to reminisce over some of your favorite porn videos when they're no longer close at hand. br / br / br /Variable Forward Speeds, Reverse, Slow Motion, Step Forward and Back - Viewable video speeds up to 32X - and as slow as .5X are available. The former is great for zipping through when the action drags. The latter is wonderful when every moment counts, such as for intimate kissing (between babes) or for oral sex (of any kind). Step Forward allows you to advance the footage one-frame-at-a-time, which is good for catching those most fleeting of images - like male climaxes which actually occur at a speed quite a bit quicker than you might think. (Well, maybe not.) I use it more often than I would've guessed; typically when slow-motion - isn't slow enough. (If you watch porn at only normal speeds, you'd be amazed by what you're missing.) br / br / br /Audio Compression - This is one of the most important capabilities of any video watching software. On Cyberlink 7, this feature provides for realistic sounding audio - when viewing the action anywhere between .5X and 2X life speed. The pitch of the performer (or music) remains normal - and doesn't begin to resemble a deep-voiced alien (or Darth Vader) or a fast-talking chipmunk. A woman's gasps of delight are just as breathy and sexy - no matter how fast or slow her actions might be. And with Audio Compression, you can also fast forward and still follow along with the DVD's story line - if for some reason that's important to you. br / br / br /Continuous Loop - The last feature worth mentioning is the ability to create a continuous loop of the action (of any length) anywhere in the video - allowing you to watch your favorite portions over-and-over again until your heart's content. (Or does your heart have really nothing to do with it?) Just click once where you want to start the loop - and then click again where you want to end it. The playback is automatic and continuous. Clicking a third time cancels the loop and allows the video to continue onward. This feature is most helpful when wanting to free up both hands - for moments of self gratification. br / br / br /As a final mention, Cyberlink can also be set up - to always start the disc at the beginning - or where you left off during your last viewing, when you pop the disc in. br / br /Let's face it - a lot of porn is junk. (There, I said it.) Why sit through all of it? Cyberlink 7 makes porn watching very pleasurable. Why view it any other way? I certainly won't. Enjoy. br /

1 out of 5 stars Cyberlink PowerDVD 7 Full Version from OC Tech Deals   September 25, 2008

I purchased Cyberlink PowerDVD 7 Full Version from OC Tech Deals and received a OEM bundled version that was labeled "not of resale". I initiated a "Comments:" back to the supplier on 8/29/08 that expressed my dissatisfaction with what was shipped. Their ad on Amazon and the shipping paperwork all referenced PowerDVD 7 Full Version; but they actually shipped an OEM bundled version. I rate OC Tech Deals a 1 (lowest rating) for deceptive advertising and shipping "non-resalable" OEM disks. OC Tech Deals never replied to my 8/28/08 comments so customer service also gets a 1 rating!

5 out of 5 stars Very useful software   August 11, 2008
PowerDVD is still a very useful piece of software. I had several DVDs that would not play on my computer. They will play with PowerDVD. Of course, I realize this was very likely due to missing codecs the computer needed, but they still played after installation. I would recommend this software.

1 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS SOFTWARE!!!!!   July 25, 2008

Absolutely horrible!!!! When I tried to burn a DVD, the burn failed 3 times. On the last time, it totally messed up my whole computer. Norton, Explorer, Quickbooks, and even my wireless keyboard wouldn't work. It took me three days on the phone with different tech supports to get my system running again. br /Avoid this crappy software.
