What do you do if you want to record events that last longer than 1.5 hours ? You upgrade the battery, right. The BP-827 (4.5h) is not easy available yet everywhere so the BP-819 becomes the only choice. It can last close to 3h and thats enough to capture most events. (Fireworks, school event of your kid, concerts, theatre etc.). With the external charger the battery is charged in roughly the same time (3h) with the cameras included charger its taking 4h.
