The worst of the SimCities November 26, 2008 The program crashes every time I try to load a saved game. My PC runs the Sims 2 without any problems so it isn't a hardware issue. This game does not deserve the name SimCity, it does not play like a SimCity. I've gone back to older versions, and am having much more fun with them than SimCity Societies.
I had fun, but regret buying Sim City Societies at full price November 20, 2008 I wish I would have waited until now to buy Sim City Societies. $10 would be a better price for the amount of fun it offers. I bought it at the full retail price a year ago, had a good time with it for a couple of days but I haven't really played it since. I liked the aspects of the different types of cities but once I accomplished it I became bored. Perhaps I would have had enjoyed it longer if more of the aspects of Sim City had been left in. I'd been frustrated by some of the difficulties I'd encountered in Sim City 4 (staying profitable) but Sim City Societies was too easy, dumbed down way too much. It's a shame they didn't better incorporate aspects of both.
Not for me, looks expansive though November 19, 2008 I'm not a sim fan, but I thought I would give this a try. FYI if it detects CD emulation software it won't run (yeah, just detecting it, not even running the game from emulation). If your looking for creative games with no point, this maybe for you.
Fun times September 29, 2008 It's a good little game and has lots of replay value. It arrived in good shape, worked great, and I was creating cities in no time at all. It gets a little repetitive after a while, and I lost interest pretty quickly.
Watered down and pointless September 14, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a very disappointing game - it is extremely watered down compared to the previous games in the franchise and becomes pointless after a few hours.
